What it involves
The backbone of what we do is our network of inspirational women who volunteer their time, their skills and their stories to our mentees.

We are background, industry, age agnostic for our mentors. What matters is that you are passionate about sharing the experience and skills you’ve developed in your career. They don’t have to be professional or technical, our focus is on soft skill development and inspiration. If you want to give back, and have time, then we will help you find your niche to support us in the way you best can.
Generally, we ask our mentors to offer 2-4 hours per month in 1-2-1 mentoring conversations, and if they are comfortable to also offer a 1 hour workshop or meetup to support skill building in our mentee community, and to help answer questions in that forum.

We provide training to all our mentors so that you have the tools and skills to best support your mentee, including mental health first aid, goal setting, communication and conflict resolution - all essential for our own careers and trajectory.

Time commitment
Early - January 2024 - 1 day training session to learn more about the Project Accelerate way, and to give you the tools you need to be an amazing mentor

January - August 2024 - 2 hours per month contact time with your mentors (ideally in person) to talk through their goals, support on actions they need to take e.g. CV building, soft skills development, and to discuss and integrate what they are learning through the formal skill building part of the programme. Ideally this would continue through any internships or work experience over the summer.

January - June 2024 (Optional) - 90 minutes to support a cohort wide workshop to help with skill building and experience sharing, in person / online.

Optional - attendance at group gatherings, and social events

Mentor Requirements
Our mentors are all inspirational women in their individual fields. They have diverse backgrounds, and overcome numerous challenges to get where they are today. They’ve overcome bias and discrimination, challenged social norms to power ahead and succeed both personally and professionally. They’ve juggled careers and motherhood. They’ve launched their own business and hustled to grow them into some of the most recognisable brands in the UAE. They are unified by their values and giving back to those who need it most. They are all passionate about the next generation of women, of helping them to achieve their full potential by navigating challenges and fighting for opportunities that would otherwise be inaccessible. If you want to join as and inspire the next generation of inspirational women, and you think you can commit to our mentees than we can’t wait to welcome you to our programme.
